Spring Retreat: Love’s Deepest Desire

Saturday, June 1st, 2019, 2:00- 4:30 PM, La Maison Trestler, 85 chemin de la Commune, Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC. Donation: $25 (Please Note: no coffee fellowship following this retreat.)

Love’s deepest desire is to awaken you to the fullness of who you are, and all that you are here to experience, share, and create. Your life experiences, your heartbreaks, your challenges, your joys—all are the curriculum that calls you home to realize the field of love.

Sarah McLean, The Power of Attention

There Is a Field

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing
and rightdoing there is a field.
I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass
the world is too full to talk about...

About Our Retreats

Our silent half-day retreats explore a variety of mindfulness techniques, and are suitable for those new to meditation as well as experienced practitioners. They consist of silent and guided meditation, walking meditation, a guided visualization, and other awareness practices.

Each retreat nurtures wholeness, and the ability to live our lives with more peace, happiness, wisdom, and compassion.

Feel free to bring your own meditation bench, but we sit on comfortable chairs for meditating. Dress causally, and bring a water bottle if you like. Please arrive a little early so that we can begin on time.

REGISTRATION: reserve your place at our spring retreat by emailing Cedric at cedric.c.cobb@gmail.com. Bursaries are available.

Preparing for our Spring Retreat: The Field of Potential by Sarah McLean

Physicists say that everything in creation
emerges from this indivisible field of awareness.
Yogis and mystics must know this, too.
This is our true home.

Meditation had given me a glimpse of “the place.”
It’s the birthplace of everyone and everything,
though it’s not a physical location―
it’s a field of potential.
It’s that consciousness that underlies
all condition, form, and creation.

This field expresses itself
through each and every one of us as us.
It’s the source of your attention and mine.
It’s that consciousness
that is looking through your eyes.

You too can become intimate with
this vast inner world
through the practice of meditation.

Meditation allows your nervous system
to settle down so you can transcend
your five senses and dive into this field.

It is a subtle realm, without dimension.
It surrounds you and binds your atoms together.
It binds the entire universe together.
It is the field of love.

This field of pure love and awareness
has been with me all along,
in the same way
that it has always been with you.
In fact, it is you.

With this new realization,
you’ll see everything and everyone
as if you are seeing them for the very first time—
as an expression of love.

PIGLET’S SONG
~ Benjamin Hoff ~ (The Te of Piglet)
Let’s find a Way today,
that can take us to tomorrow.
We’ll follow that Way,
A Way like flowing water.
Let’s leave behind,
the things that do not matter.
And we’ll turn our lives,
to a more important chapter.
Let’s take the time and try to find,
what real life has to offer.
And maybe then we’ll find again,
what we had long forgotten.
Like a friend, true ’til the end,
it will help us onward.
The sun is high, the road is wide,
and it starts where we are standing.
No one knows how far it goes,
for the road is never-ending.
It goes away,
beyond what we have thought of.
It flows away,
Away like flowing water.
“Let’s take the time and try to find, what real life has to offer.”
